Fortune’s Run is a sci-fi immersive sim about surviving the industrial wreckage of Earth after humanity has escaped to the stars. The shooter RPG blew some critics away when they tried the demo back in 2023. Now the early access game’s future has been plunged into uncertainty after its developer revealed they’re going to prison.

The developer of well-received Steam Early Access first-person shooter Fortune's Run has ceased work on the game after receiving a three-year prison sentence. In a shock announcement on the Fortune’s Run Steam page,

The Fortune's Run developer known only as Dizzie has revealed that development on the game will end...because they're going to prison.

Announced originally during the Realms Deep event in 2021, and later released into Early Access on Steam in 2023, Fortune's Run is a highly rated immersive-sim FPS but now its future is uncertain.

Retro immersive-sim Fortune's Run has had its early access development paused due to its sole developer being sentenced to prison. In an update on Steam, developer Dizzie explained why the game's other developer left the project and admitted to being sentenced to three years in prison,
