The NCAA issued a rules interpretation that will allow offenses to reset clock if 12 or more defenders participate in a play late in a half.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s loss at Oregon has led to an in-season rule change by the NCAA. If a defense has more than 11 players on the field in the final two minutes of the half, a five-yard penalty will be assessed. The offense will also have the option to reset the game clock.
